Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity is the second official mission pack for Quake. Developed by Hipnotic Interactive, later renamed Ritual Entertainment, Scourge featured 15 new single player missions, a new multiplayer arena, as well as three new enemies, weapons and power-ups, breakable walls and a more conventional soundtrack. The new weapons that Armagon adds are pretty cool but ultimately I feel are redundant and not too useful. Gremlins I like as a neat idea but others don't (enemies that can steal your guns and use them on you). In one level you'll be forced to fight a Shambler in a large gated room with no cover, then in another you'll ride a ski lift as like four vores snipe at you. Bit more experimental but has a lot of really questionable design. Main turnoff of Armagon for me is that it's the exact opposite. Armagon is a bit more sci-fi focused, being mostly tech bases for the first half and just default medieval levels after.ĭissolution has really solid levels, even if they aren't revolutionary. Kinda surprised by the answers, as I like Dissolution a lot more and thought that was the general opinion.ĭissolution emphasizes the fantasy aspect of Quake, adding new medieval textures/enemies and Egyptian themed maps into the mix.
